Residential support brings personal space and shared everyday life together. What matters is finding a home where the environment, the people and the support fit the person—not expecting the person to fit a fixed routine.
Having time and space for yourself, with support that respects preferences, privacy and everyday choices.
Being involved in daily life, relationships and meaningful activities, with the level of assistance that is right for you.
Maintaining connections and exploring interests beyond the home, guided by what matters to the person.
Choosing residential support is an individual decision. These conversations help us understand whether a particular service can meet someone’s needs.
Tell us about support needs, interests, communication, preferences and what a good day looks like. Families, advocates and involved professionals can contribute in line with the person’s wishes.
Read the home’s profile and speak to its team about the surroundings, facilities, current availability and arranging a visit.
We assess needs alongside the environment and staffing. Discuss mobility, sensory and accessibility requirements with the service; a referral is not a guarantee of a placement.
Where a placement is appropriate, support is planned with the person. Goals and routines are reviewed as needs, preferences and circumstances change.
Our purpose across residential services is to build quality of life. The way this looks depends on who lives in a home, the relationships they value and the things they want to do.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) means understanding the person and making everyday life more supportive. Capable Environments bring communication, routines, relationships and surroundings together so people have opportunities to participate.
Person-Centred Active Support (PCAS) helps people take part rather than having everything done for them. A Trauma Responsive approach brings listening, choice, consistency and respect for personal boundaries into daily support.
Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment help us explore wellbeing alongside each person’s goals. A fulfilling life—not simply completing care tasks—is the focus.
The amount or kind of support someone needs may change. We revisit goals and routines with the person and the people involved in their support. Where a next step is appropriate, it is considered around their wishes and needs—not a fixed deadline for moving on.
